You might say, Kanak come on .. it was just a mere joke, but not for me !!! If a CTO of HP does not know how to show respect to an innovative masterpiece, I do feel there product deserve no respect from me !! Looking at the picture below make me so angry, might be an apple fan inside me is not ready to forgive MR RAHUL SOOD of RAHULSOOD.com.

Those who are unaware, Rahul Sood, the founder of VooDoo PC and CTO of HP’s global gaming business,he used a working MacBook Air to cut his thick, rich, chocolatey birthday cake. While wearing an HP shirt with HP logo upside down.
Just tell me how sick is that ??? I hate you HP , and I have decided not to buy a HP product ( laptop , printer etc etc etc ) in my whole life … HP !! You SUCK !!!

Being an apple fan you might be upset, but then its one guy who did something strange and company cannot be blamed for that. Further the t-shirt is not of HP one.
I agree with you 100% that the Guy was wrong, whether he is wearing HP T-shirt or not. What I’m saying is that we cannot blame a company because of the act of one stupid guy.
If it was a Microsoft guy, would you stop using MS products?
You are right… You asked me the right question… “If it was a Microsoft guy, would you stop using MS products?”. My answer is, I cannot. And ofcourse yes, we cannot blame HP on the whole. But my frustration was coz he was the CTO and not a stupid guy. Anyway. After Nirmals conversation I take back from Hate HP campaign as his questions were reasonable. But still I am angry with that guy or the team.
oohh !! that was quite a good discussion going on. What i will say that .. we have control on certain things .. and not on some … like Microsoft … we cant deny them .. ( I remember a funny quote though……….
“….. Ya see, we at Microsoft believe in making computing easier! What could be easier for consumers than having only ONE choice of software?!?”
I feel individual responsibility is what we talking about, we talk about representation. Like,Mr. Sood is a representative of HP, and hence his acts can be directly linked with acts of HP, unless HP ask him to apologize publically. After all we are not talking about any mr. sood , we are talking about Mr. Sood who is the CTO of HP and his image does give an HP representation.
I will try to prevent HP to the extent possible, coz if a company cant respect other company’s product, I need not respect there’s.
however Nirmal, I remember you bought a HP notebook some time back
Note: As of now, I am not Apple’s fan or Hp’s or anyone else’s. I sold out my laptop and now own only an assembles PC both at home and work.
So my comments are to be considered from a nuetral person.
;)
Its not because I bought a HP laptop, I’m a fan of it.
Infact Mr.Sood is alway a representative of HP when he gives a public statement. But if you argue that this act may be a personal one, HP should react for it in some way. punishing him or should force him to appologize for this act. However, this might not happen as he has clearly stated the causes that made him to do the act.
Nice conclusion.
@shankar
lolzzzzz… I will remember this post for the comments …
But whatever it is … I want an apology from HP
Hey its not just a laptop … !!! its Macbook Air. The notebook cost nearly 2000$ and is a dream of many. When the people who are unable to afford Air, see such kind of act that too by a CTO of a highly reputed company, anger is highly likely.
The reason of this activity could be just to mock at apple’s product.
I was amazed only after reading the comments. Great job Kanak for writing this post. You forced your readers to enter into discussion of that high standards.
Well, Shankar was playing safe (good tactics
) and Nirmal on the other hand has got points to think over (Excellent use of words to prove his points). Really I have never seen comments like that before on any other blog.
You have a point here, he should not have published the images especially when he is the CTO of a rival company. He has the right to do what ever he wants with his notebook or macbook, but then publishing them on Internet was the issue.
yeah you are right !! it was really a great fun reading these valuable comments ..
@nirmal
yeah you are also right !!
@mobilejgames
Yeah the story is now very popular .. I was reading the comments on the Sood’s blog.. and if you see there are enormous amount of pingback to that posts…
heheheh nirmal, that was really a good one …. lolzzzz … so be careful of doing against apple
@raskshit
I Am getting extra careful now
Yeah i remember tooo .. Am not sure .. I think it was related with some girl’s dress and mass cutting of animals …
I think companies are going beyond the healthy marketing by mocking other’s product ..
