What will you do if you get $218 trillion phone bill??

Well, I have no clue what i will do , what about you ??
Well its surely the talk of the Malaysian town where Telekom Malaysia has sent Yahaya Wahab a bill for 806,400,000,000,000.01 ringgit, or about $218 trillion, for charges to the account, along with a demand from the company’s debt collection agency that he settle the alleged debt within 10 days, or get a lawyer .

Moreover the billed person is not actually Yahaya, its on the name of his father who passed away in January.

Billing a dead man , till where its justifiable ?? I think the telecom company has gone nuts. $218 trillion total is roughly 17 times the GDP of the United States.

Well I wonder which company actually gives that much of limit to be used on a mobile phone. Even a postpaid account has its limit. And also what was the company doing when the bill was skyrocketing ? As the company has given 10 days to settle the debt, else would knock the doors of the court room , Yahaya is fully prepared and is waiting for the hearing to take place.
I really wish the guy wins the case and the company gets backfiring with the huge number of service unsubscription that will follow the case.

Its still hard to believe that something like this is actually possible in todays technological advanced world !!! Damm Evil  … How would you react if you get billed supernaturally like this by some crazy telecom operator ?? I dont even know how many zero’s are there in 213 trillion $ ;) .

I hope you wont behave like an addicted blogger by saying “you are going to blog about this” ;) !!

Damn, that’s a huge bill. No more going out for Yahaya, huh ? I would honestly think it’s a bad joke if I were to receive such a bill.

Having worked for a U.S. phone company, I found this most interesting. In some computers, the maximum number physically possible for a decimal field is 18 digits. The amount above is 17 (the pennies count, the punctuation doesn’t). Even so, it’s unusual for all 18 of them to be displayed, making this incident even more hard to believe. Bills are so crowded that allowing for 9 or 10 is more common. One would like to see the bill (personal info withheld, of course) to insure that this is not a hoax).

If true, some phone company systems designer somewhere is working some very long extra hours to insure that “this doesn’t happen again.” 8-))
