Heard the news at engadget that apple has bought the domain Iphone.com for a whopping seven digit figure which go in millions. As a big iphone fan, I didnt take much time to go through the domain and encountered this :
    iphone.com blocked in UAE

Iphone.com domain was previously owned by the Michael Kovatch ,as an acronym for Internet phone company , will now re-direct the users to the official apple’s iphone page.
iphone dot com now owned by apple
But not in UAE as its blocked.I wonder why Etisalat (UAE’s ISP ) has blocked this website.

Before Apple bought iapple.com from the owners, it might have been redirecting to pornographic material so that is why it might have been blocked.

I seriously doubt, as far as I feel , it was involved in cell phone trading.

iPhones are destined to be a smash success worldwide. For those of you that don’t have one, here’s a simple way to keep abreast of the latest buzz on iPhones.

On ANY wap enabled cell phone browser, simply enter the numeric-domain equivalent of the word ‘iPhone’, which is 474663. Add .com and press ‘send’, ‘call’, ‘go’ etc.

    Enter 474663.com

    Cheers
