  • Heard the news at engadget that apple has bought the domain Iphone.com for a whopping seven digit figure which go in millions. As a big iphone fan, I didnt take much time to go through the domain and encountered this :
    iphone.com blocked in UAE

Iphone.com domain was previously owned by the Michael Kovatch ,as an acronym for Internet phone company , will now re-direct the users to the official apple’s iphone page.
iphone dot com now owned by apple
But not in UAE as its blocked.I wonder why Etisalat (UAE’s ISP ) has blocked this website.

Apple and Iphone archives at tecfre.

Before Apple bought iapple.com from the owners, it might have been redirecting to pornographic material so that is why it might have been blocked.

I seriously doubt, as far as I feel , it was involved in cell phone trading.

iPhones are destined to be a smash success worldwide. For those of you that don’t have one, here’s a simple way to keep abreast of the latest buzz on iPhones.

On ANY wap enabled cell phone browser, simply enter the numeric-domain equivalent of the word ‘iPhone’, which is 474663. Add .com and press ‘send’, ‘call’, ‘go’ etc.

    Enter 474663.com

    Cheers

@scott you are right. Seems the 700,000 iphones are sold till now. iphone rocks. Moreover thanks for the info.
