Portable recorders have been very useful. They are used by journalists for reporting and businessmen for dictating notes. But one thing has been a source of worry – the size. When used as recorders, mobile phones, traditional recorders or MP3 recorders are too bulky for convenience. They therefore become cumbersome carry or even use at some point. Out of this need, Panasonic developed the ultra small MP3 USB Recorder. This is a portable recorder that will occupy less space in your luggage and also give you sound files that is more versatile.
One other useful feature about this recorder is the ability of the user to record in stereo or mono as required. This way, you are able to save some disk space for other recordings.
The MP3 playback feature also makes the device quite portable as there are many devices that are able to play this file easily including PCs.
The Panasonic recorder introduced another feature that is less seen on other similar appliances. You are able to zoom in the microphone. In practice, this means the user can stand afar off from the speaker or sound source and still record minutest details. This is a helpful capability that will serve journalists who for various reasons cannot get so close to the speaker to record.
Panasonic designed the recorder so that when you plug it up the PC, it only displays as storage media similar to what one finds with USB Drives. Thus, the PC is able to integrate it easily into its operating system and will result in less interruption with other programs.
With 45 hours of recording, the device is more than a journalist or investigator will need for his average job. Aside that, the recorder has an inbuilt security mechanism that requires a password to activate. This means, if you lose it, you are still assured of the protection of your sound.
Following the style of MP3 portable players, you can save your sound files in folders. This brand can carry as many as 3996 files.
The Panasonic portable recorder is the ultimate choice for long version interviews or dictation.

Hey there is the best way, in my opinion, is to use itunes. just add those files to the itunes library and then right click and choose “Create Mp3 Version.”
Trying to get my head around the zoom feature, you zoom in on yourself from far away and it blocks out nearer sound? Sounds cool
is there anything this device can’t do!
i love this thing! i need one now
Panasonic Digital IC Voice Recorder with 2GB Storage, MP3 Recording and Playback and USB PC Link – Up to 576h Recording Time i really like these feature.
The camera is not equipped with a charging circuit inside, nor can USB provide the power needed for the camera to charge quickly. There might be third party chargers that can do it, but not with the what the camera comes with.
Oh yes! Panasonic has boosted the memory capacity on its brandnew models. The RR-QR160 can record up to 8 hours, 10 min and the quality of sound is guaranteed. You can easily organize files in five folders on the recorder and remove them to a computer.
Standard definition, MiniDV tape based, camcorders transfer high quality, standard definition, DV format, video only over firewire.
well, the mic is for chatting whilst playing with others online. but as you know, Devs are gonna make good use from the hacks….
Those are some great features
The only camera that can charge through USB (name brand cameras that is) are a few Kodaks. Those camera’s were an abysmal disaster since the USB had trouble providing enough power and people always lost the cable or didn’t have a laptop.
it is possible to play audio from any audio output speaker/headphone/etc. through any audio amplifier (tape player/tv/etc. you just need to know how to rewire them together and not care if either one gets ruined.
Great enterprises really!
