Every product is going slim today. From laptops to Netbooks to HDTVs, almost everything seems to be made smaller. So the public rightly expected an ultra slim speaker line from Hercules, a company that is unofficially noted as the pioneer and advocate of slim products at least from the amount of research it devotes to such designs. Perhaps the company’s research has not been in vain – the new XPS has been reputed to be the smallest satellite speakers on the market.

The design allows it to be placed in areas or rooms with limited space. More so, it is compatible with several appliances such as with PCs, gaming consoles, TV’s, and CD/DVD players and therefore gains much wider acceptance.

XPS Ultra Slim Speaker From Hercules

The XPS speakers were made to achieve outstanding aesthetic effects. The slim design and the black lacquer color tomes provide an ultra modern decoration for the living room. It was made to blend with modern home theater design so that they serve as replacement speakers or extra ones for these systems. Perhaps they were made to save space too. The speakers are made from wood to emphasize an ecofriendly product.

Despite their slim appearance, there is much power in the XPS. Users have a total of 10 Watts power. This makes the system an ideal choice for gamers, home theater enthusiasts and portable MP3 owners who want to play their sound files over an external speaker.

One minus for the XPS Slim is the wired mini remoter. In these days when even CD players have wireless remotes, how can one pardon Hercules for a corded remote? Well, there may be a reason for them doing so. Maybe a wireless remote is easy to lose. Or an advanced remote may have added more cost to the speaker and therefore made the set more expensive.

As the name suggest, I think the speaker should be like Hercules in sound quality.

Most mics use an XLR cable so I’m going to assume that’s what you have. XLR is a 3 pin connector. The mic will plug into the mixer. The mixer will have MAIN OUT (left and right), you connect the Mixer Main Outs to the left and right INPUTS on the amplifier. Then you connect the Speakers to the OUTPUTS of the amplifier. The mixer will control the gain of the mic to the amp.

Speakers meant for use with a computer have a small amp built in. If you still have the amp for you home theatre system this would be ideal.
