Technology doesn’t stink and nor does electricity. So, it doesn’t matter from where its generated. So, when the world is talking about conservation and renewable resources to meet daily need for energy, how about utilizing your toilet flush to generate some electricity. Feel smelly isnt it ??? Mind you, its not one amongst google’s april fool tricks ( remember TISP ?? )

sewage engine generate electricity using flush

The idea behind Benkatine Turbine by Leviathan Energy is pretty simple. Reuse of flushed water to generate little bit of electricity. This is not a project which anyone can start at home, because the amount of water required would be huge. So, let the municipality do the job .

There is nothing really new here, after all, rushing water is the basis of all hydroelectric power. It is the location and scale of this system (ie. in your toilet!) that makes it such an innovative product.

According to the company, the turbine is intended to be scalable, meaning that it can work well in both municipal water and sewer systems, as well as in smaller pipes such as residential drainage and guttering systems. It is meant to be used in conjunction with other turbines in order to maximize the efficiency of the system.

Simple invention, great idea , and great utilization of waste water. Let see which country implements it first. Also, I think its high time people should start thinking about alternative to petrol , diesel etc.
