Nokia “not Interested” in touchscreens

After the revolutionary Iphone, and HTC Touch touchscreen mobile , its usual for everyone to expect a similar kind of announcement from one of the Top mobile phone manufacture- “Nokia”. But nokia is thinking something different.
E24.se news portal published an interview with Antti Vasara, General Manager , Nokia Mobile Devices Business Unit

in which he claims that

people don’t like touchscreens and prefer keyboards and joysticks as their input devices.

Its very true, as large number of people don’t like using touchscreens for UIs built for a mouse and nothing beats a keyboard with plenty of input options and fast data entry.

So Nokia has no intention in jumping into the competition initiated by apple Iphone , LG prada and HTC touch.

But wait a second , there is a very very notable point in the interview which states that

Nokia will be launching entirely new type of mobile next year

Do tell us more about it Nokia , till we wait for some more spypics .

Also one more notable point made by him is about nokia E90. He stated that

Nokia E90 Communicator is a pretty complicated piece of equipment and hard to produce in large quantities at first. Hence it will take some time for this piece to be available worldwide in huge quantities.

So .. there is something going on in the mind of mobile giants to tackle with these touch screen mobiles. Lets wait and watch
