Nokia N97 Firmware version 12.2.024 changelog

Expectations is what a phone firmware update is all about. As an ardent mobile phone user, a phone firmware update piles up loads of expectations. Nokia N97 recently got updated to Firmware version 12.2.024. I had lot of expectations for example :

• Fixing the Low RAM issues which result in frequent browser crash.
• Fix for USB charging.
• Fix for connection problem of home screen widgets. Live Home screen widgets like facebook, remember the last used wifi connection, and try to connect even if that wifi connection is not available. However, removing and adding the widget again solve the problem, but still it can be fixed.
• Ovi Store search is big crap. I even want more number of search results on one page.
• Kinetic scroll on every menu navigation.
• Overall speed improvement and device stability.

After updating the phone I was able to find some difference in speed. The phone is much faster, but still need to solve the RAM issues. However, without wasting much time, here is the Change log for Nokia N97 as blogged by symbian-freak :

• Fix for browser cache consuming more than specified in C drive
• Battery indictor showing wrong status (23bars) when charging completes
• Firmware over the air (OTA) setting correction
• User interaction to device while OTA may cause need for user to power on/off
• Fix for calendar entry lost
• Fix for mail that may get duplicated
• Fix to resolve GPRS access point selection even if WLAN access point is available
• Fix to not to ask user to do new profile while there is already one available
• Fix to display messaging application correctly when theme effect is set to ON
• Fix for Ovi Store client may not properly installed if user has a client already installed earlier version

Applications changes

• Ovi store application is now updated

The phone can be updated using Nokia Software updater or Nokia Ovi suite using a desktop computer. You can update your phone if you have not updated yet, as it makes your device more stable and secure.
