Nokia Go play event yesterday, saw the debut of the new players from Nokia in the highly profitable music playground. With many new services announced , here are the specification of the latest phone releases by Nokia :

Nokia N81

• Phone comes in two editions -Nokia N81 and Nokia N81 8 Gb. (8Gb version has no microSD memory expansion slot)
• This slider measures 102×50x17.9 mm and weighs in at 140 grams
• MicroUSB socket, WiFi and runs the same platform as the Nokia N95
• Music-minded solution comes with a remote control, 3.5 mm jack and a slightly revamped player.
• Will support N-gage platform early Next year
• GPS-receiver
• price tag of 400-450 Euro
• 2 MPix camera module

Nokia N95 8GB

• 8Gb of memory
• Screen has also grown up from the 2.6″ of the original to 2.8″ in the new edition.
• QVGA resolution supports upto 16M colors.
• Powered by 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery
• GPS
• RAM is now double the size of the orginal to improve user experience with the browser or with multiple applications running in the background.
• Expexted retail price is EUR 560 before taxes.

Nokia 5310 Express Music

• Music-dedicated handset based on the Nokia S40 platform.
• 2.0” QVGA TFT display with ambient light sensor
• Stereo Bluetooth
• 2 megapixel camera
• 9.9 mm thickness and weighs 70.2 g
• Quad-band
• 30MB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot.
• Support stereo Bluetooth (A2DP)

• GPRS and EDGE enabled.
• Equipped with a dedicated audio chip and 3 dedicated music keys
• Estimated price of EUR 250.

Nokia 5610 Express Music

• Slider form factor
• Built-in dedicated audio chip
• Up to 22 hours of non-stop playback
• Based on the Nokia S40
• 3.2 megapixel camera with 2-step shutter key and LED flash
• 2.2″ 16M TFT display supports QVGA resolution (320 x 240 pixels)
• 20MB Internal memory but it is expandable through the microSD card slot
• MicroUSB port and stereo Bluetooth (A2DP).
• Network connectivity - GPRS, EDGE and UMTS are supported.
• Quad Band
• Retail price of EUR 300 before taxes.

If you noticed, Nokia’s 5610 do look like Sony’s S500. Nokia’s interest in music market is the result of huge success seen by Sony’s Walkman series phones. But this time even though design and products are inspiration of Sony’s walkman line up , integrating a dedicated audio chips will surely give a much better music experience to users. Releasing the same model with a Music edition tag , will not help nokia in long go. I think they should seriously work out on some models like Nokia N81 and Nokia N76 to create more buzz in the market. Anyways, lets see whats more lying there at Nokia in the coming weeks.
