Some days back when I posted about the skyfire browser , it sounded really thrilling thinking about the browsing experience the mobile users are gonna get, once its released. Skyfire limited its beta testing to US guys, but opera went a step ahead deciding not to release any beta version as of now.

    Opera mobile will give you

    • A true Web experience optimized for mobile phones
    • The ability to offer Web applications right on the idle screen
    • The full richness of Web 2.0 services like facebook using AJAX
    • Blazing speed with Opera’s Presto rendering engine
    • Accelerated time to market with Opera Widgets
    • A proven product with focus on innovation, quality and user experience

    opera browser

    And opera 9.5 will add

    • Intuitive user interface
    • Tabbed browsing
    • Improved text wrap
    • Page overview, zooming and panning
    • Landscape mode
    • Save Web page for future offline access
    • Call phone number from Web page
    • Send link as SMS/MMS
    • Send image as SMS/MMS
    • Small Screen Rendering
    • Password manager
    • Web-address input auto-completion
    • History and bookmarks
    • Copy text
    • Opera Widgets

I think I really under estimated Opera. Tabbed browsing in mobiles was something which I was really looking forward and was wondering whether it will be possible on a small mobile screen Opera, has made it possible and the last thing I would wish is that they release the browser either for free or at the nominal price. Opera answered all our questions and was in time. Kanak, I agree we underestimated Opera. But they really proved it. I am still waiting for the Opera Mini to come with these features. :)

in mobile space and specifically into browsers, the big boy here is Opera till date. Other usual big boys are still at sleep.

The new features are cool, but I guess this is not a free version.

I certainly would love to have it for free, however with all these cool features, I’d rather agree with nirmal as well. Opera have really outdone themselves!
