Its just one day after the unbelievable news popped out regarding the launch of $10 laptop in India, which will be available within 6 months. The price actually is $20 , but assurance is given that it will be dropped to $10 within 6 months of sales depending on the demand of this device.
So far so good !!! But……
But few hours before , another news broke out which was published by each and every A list technology blog regarding the launch of this gadget a big dumb joke.
Fine I understand , the same was said when TATA declared to manufacture a car for $2500. Everyone woooed the TATA’s for making such a statement, but what happened ?? TATA NANO is there in reality, but still the people who were still not able to digest the fact they were proved wrong stated,
Yeah !!! they manufactured a car in which 5 people can sit ………… “Without Breathing !!! “
Its just some bunch of cribbers who can never see a country advanced so high in technology at the same time keeping the cost to the minimal level.
However, you may ask , Dude !! we are talking about $10 laptop , not TATA NANO !! I would say , yeah !! but its going the same way … the same words are being used now “Dumb” “Crap” “Bullshit” etc etc etc. TATA NANO is just one example amongst many, and regarding this $10 laptop, things will itself get clear with within months.
Learn to appreciate the idea .. rather than cribbing
Ok so let me quote what is being going around the web . $10 Laptop “SAKSHAT” IS
A storage device containing megabytes of data info which can be accessed by a user by connecting this device to a laptop.
This is such a funny quote, and I think the starters of this rumor are again the pessimistic out here, who find it difficult to accept certain things. Anyways, let me ask these guys a question after quoting another text published about the launch of this device :
The low-cost device, developed jointly by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Chennai, and Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, for the human resource development (HRD) ministry, is aimed at bridging the digital divide and making access to computer literacy affordable to the masses.
Demonstrating the laptop in presence of HRD Minister Arjun Singh and experts in the Venkateshwara University campus, Education Joint Secretary S.K. Sinha said the low-power consuming gadget would hit the market in the next six months.
“The device, which is smaller than the normal laptop in size and weight, still needs fine-tuning. With 2GB (gigabit) memory and wireless internet connection, the laptop will be priced between Rs.500-1,000 to make it affordable to everyone,” Sinha said.
Now, let me ask the publishers,
The project in which IIT is involved, can there be such a big mistake where the publicized laptop turn out to be a storage device ??? Moreover, Do you think the HRD minister does not know the difference between a Laptop and a storage device ?? Or , a 2gb storage device with Wireless Connection can be called as a Laptop ?? Also HRD has a full one stop educational portal at www.sakshat.ac.in
Final Thoughts
As far as I believe this project will go on and within few months the reality will be in front of everyone. But if the $10 laptop actually turn out to be a storage device, then I would either list it as a big defeat of media publishers who even without any solid proof publicized it all over the world First as a $10 laptop from India and then again breaking it up as a BIG DUMB JOKE.
information week , rediff , tech2 , digitimes

That picture at in dot com is NOT the $0 Indian laptop. That picture is something totally different costing like $300 made by a company called Milead or something.
Anyways, why would you have a bunch of model bimbos showing off laptops for children’s education.
In fact, there are no pictures of the Indian $0 laptop. I’m guessing it may be a pure bunch of hoax, vapourware that about 500 lazy blog writers just copied from one another without even stopping up to think for one second if this story about a $10 Indian laptop was joke.
thanks for the insight .. lets wait for couple of months for the clear picture to come out ..
but yeah its just so many blogs which just for the sake of publishing the news first, leave all the ethics behind.
