My last post was about Intervoip, which can provide really cheap calls to India. However, the major drawback of making voip calls is that you have to be dependent on your laptop. But now no more, with SIP coming into picture, you can now make Voip calls from your mobile phone directly. Since Intervoip, support SIP, and provide really cheap calls to India, what could be more better, if you can use your mobile phone over a wifi hotspot to call your friends or family.
Fring to the rescue
At first,I tried to setup internet call access point using the default settings available in my Nokia Mobile. No matter, how much i tried, it didnt setup as the phone always failed to register to the SIP server.
Suddenly, it strike me to try using Fring ( download here ), as it do support SIP server. It amazed me with the simplicity.
Username , password and the SIP server are the details you have to fill in and your phone will turn into a SIP phone. It registered within seconds and I was able to make calls to my friend’s cell. However , there was small delay , but again the voice clarity was just too good.
To setup Intervoip on your mobile phone using Fring, follow the following steps :
1. After logging into Fring, go to Options — > Manage Communities and select SIP.
2. Select the Other options as Intervoip is not there in the list of default providers.
3. Enter your yourusername@intervoip.com and password and server enter : sip.intervoip.com
4. Select Ok, Fring will register within seconds and now you are ready to make SIP calls from your mobile phone.
5. Your friends can even see your status and call you directly on your mobile phone using the intervoip desktop application.
As I always said, Using Fring you can exploit your phone’s capability to the max. Hence, happy voip(ing) and fringing.

Hey which country you belong too.. yeah the stuff is cheap to india .. however as stated there are loads of voip providers which provide free calls to some countries .. but to India .. not possible

Download http://www.talkonaut.com from your mobile and sign-in your freecall or intervoip account. call charges are same as calling from computer (example: 0.020 fills per minute to India)
recently call are not going from mobile but from computer still working with cheat rate of 0.015 in smart voip. voip cards are available by 65 dirhams and you can call 11 hours to india.

The phone needs to be connected to the PC and the software needs to be installed. Not all service providers support this at the moment. You might need to check with them. The call quality is good provided you have a good headset and you are not planning to share or use this over the network.
great job…… Its Working!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried 100s of times in my nokia E63 but every time it was shawong registration failed.. But this Fring this works.. I am using Action voip and rynga.. both are working perfectly with fring on E63.. Thank u very much..
