Google Street map intruded your privacy?? Report to Google !!

The recently launched Google Maps feature, Street View, created a major controversy in the Internet world after the utility started showing some private pictures of the residents. There were thousands of pictures which finally turned out to be humorous as people got filmed without they having any idea.
Sometimes due to the fast movement of certain humans , the pictures appeared as headless , limbless etc .

But finally, Google is listening to all these grievances and has decided to remove some of the photos published on Google Maps Street View and roll out a special function that allows the users to demand the removal of a certain picture.

How ???

So here is what you have to do . You need to do is open a desired picture with Street View and press the Help link. The feature entitled “Report Inappropriate Image” allows you to request the removal of a certain photo.

After clicking report the picture, you will get an option to select the reason or enter your own and send it to Google for analyzing.

After the request is sent, the search giant’s employees will analyze it and, if the content is really inappropriate, the picture is removed. I am not sure , how much time it will take as analyzing each and every picture and judging it, is going to be really time consuming.

However, the function is an important step to avoid privacy concerns.

  1. Wow!!! This article is really useful. I hadn’t heard of this privacy matter until now. It will really come in handy. Thanks!

  2. They should consider only blurring the requested images and not remove entire city blocks. The image of the guy

peeing next to the road was removed but about a mile of road where you could zoom in to see him was removed also.
I fear that it could become almost unusable if the policy continues.

If you are looking for some Street View finds I have a site here:
