Seems like magic, isnt it ? While you are typing, Google’s search results are already getting filtered as per your search keywords. So, while you are typing Google is searching and you save around 2 to 5 seconds of your time (may be for not hitting an Enter Key
). Now before you just say “ONLY 2 to 5 seconds???” let me make it a little more clear. When added up these 2 to 5 seconds turn out to be saving users around 11 HOURS by each passing second.

Google Instant explained in Video
Here are a few of the core features in Google Instant:
- Dynamic Results – Google dynamically displays relevant search results as you type so you can quickly interact and click through to the web content you need.
- Predictions – One of the key technologies in Google Instant is that we predict the rest of your query (in light gray text) before you finish typing. See what you need? Stop typing, look down and find what you’re looking for.
- Scroll to search – Scroll through predictions and see results instantly for each as you arrow down.

How to turn off Google Instant ?
However, after trying if you are not satisfied and want to return to good old Google.com , you can do so by visiting your Google preferences page.

Google has always done things differently. Its really hard to imagine life without Google. I am really excited about this option and have already set my home page to Google Instant. What about you ??
