You heard it, but took it lightly, I heard it and took it seriously. Just wanted to know what Google is boasting about !! They say , Android will outsell Iphone. How and why, no one dare to question.
If you read the news at Yahoo, you will find Google’s group manager for mobile platforms Rich Miner , speaking out something which goes like this :
Once you have devices out there from Motorola, HTC, Samsung, and so on, there’s a much larger potential market on Android than for the iPhone
It seems such a big typo. I really feel that instead of Iphone he should have mentioned Windows Mobile. I wonder what android has to do with Iphone. Get over it, Iphone is a piece of hardware ( Android - an OS ) which is popular because of its revolutionary UI, not because it runs OS X. If it was so, Sony Xperia would have never got popular as there are thousands of mobile phones running on Windows Mobile. So where lies the difference ?? OS or UI ??
If you dig deep inside, how Iphone became popular. Apple did it very strategically. They integrated Ipod + phone + internet (web browsing) + ease of use and created Iphone. There is no compromise on anything other than 3g and GPS . It does everything to the level of perfection . Even while talking about ease of use , you will be surprised seeing how 1 or 2 year old kids using iphone ( there is a part 2 also ) . Talk about application, then this video is a must watch ( heck, it has 2.7 million views ).
I think its high time Google should understand thats its not about Iphone. Iphone is still yet to be released worldwide officially. Imagine the number which Iphone will reach, once it happens.
I wonder what Mr. Rich Miner reaction would be , if , apple release a version of Iphone which runs on Android ( highly unlikely though ) . Get over it google, even if Iphone was powered by S60 or winmobile, it would have been equally popular.
Introduce multitouch , sensor powered UI with excellent operating speed and just one “home” button, and then we will talk about beating Iphone.
