Did you know that Downloading stuffs might increase your Hard Disk weight ???? ;-)

Hard disk gets overweight

Hey its not me who asked this , but this was a question which was asked at Mircosoft Answers !! This guy who is suffering from bad back , and is medically limited on the amount of weight he can carry, asked the Question which is as follows :

Apologies if this is the incorrect area for this question.
I’ve noticed that as I copy data/install programs on my Laptop, the weight of the Laptop increases. I have a bad back and am medically limited on the amount of weight I can carry so I need to be very carefull not to inflict injury upon myself.
I have also noticed my XBox feels heavier as well (the more games I save or purchase from arcade). I generally don’t travel with my XBox so that is not an issue for me, but note the I am having the same results.
My ask, what is the weight/file ratio? So for example, how many GB’s = 6oz? I dread the day I need a dolly to commute to work with my Laptop.
Thanks in advance!

If you visit the link , and you will find guys trying to actually figure out ,whether they misunderstood the question . One user even proved it with algebraic formulas that  weight is INVERSE of the DATA stored. So, the more data you store , the lesser your computer or HDD weighs. WOAHH !! I never knew that, :-) … I think its time to re-weigh my laptop and the harddisk too :-D .

Happy weekend !! and visit the link here !!!

  1. I dont justify your statement.. When u install OS, it will occupy some amount of memeory space in some sector of HDD. For eg, Win98 will occupy around 198MB of spaces..

  2. Maybe the inertia of the moving parts can make it seem heavier while operating, but it actually doesn’t get heavier or lighter.
