Update : tata’s one lakh car launched
Just now heard on news that Tatas are going to launch the much awaited 1 lakh car tomorrow i.e Jan 10th 2007. This 1 lakh rupee car will be the best New Year gift tatas can give to people.
Speculations are going on that the car can be named
- Atom
- Indi
- Miracle
With the expectations going pretty high, I hope tata is able to maintain the price tag of 1 lakh, as inflation on steel price and other cost increasing factor (labour,high fuel price) could be the major challenge. Anyways lets wait for tomorrow 
.

Wow, Thats a good news for a lot of people around here. But just imagine the traffic. Chennai will be simply the best one going to suffer.
@smackall, heheehe , the same is goin to happen to all states , banglore, delhi etc. Anyways lets first see whether the car is spacious enough for ppl to sit with ease. Tomorrow at New- delhi, I hope things will turn good .. Anyways, I have lots of hope with TATA , and guess what India’s top scooter manufacture Bajaj is also jumping into 4 wheeler race in 1.25 to 1.5 lakh segment. Competition always better for consumers

I too prefer motorbike if I am riding alone. 
Motorbike? people prefer 4-wheeler for the first reason that a family can travel easily. Consider a family with 4 people, there is no other option.
I too saw it in the news, they are going to show in Auto Expo I think.

yes, Rajesh, I am from chennai. I am nowadays scared of moving on roads within the city coz of the traffic. Just imagine a added 5% traffic will completely screw the city. That too cars… Soon crossing mount road will be an adventure for everyone.
@roffi , yeah motorbike has its own advantage , you can take it at any pocket road , and dont have to worry about parking issues.
@smackall : yeah car is the best solution for a family outing. And yeah I can agree TATA’s people car will end up creating traffic trouble for the people itself . It will have a added option for Maruti 800 car owners and High end bike owners. Hope govt. plan more routes to cope up with the situation.
