I recall when scanners were first invented, you were so excited to have your documents reproduced in seconds. But time has caught up with us. What if you need to scan a round object? Or say you have 100 documents in 10 rooms and you needed to scan them? We less thought about this scenario but Avermedia took it serious. The company has invented the scanner with mechanical arms – meaning you only have to bring the object been scanned into the view of the arm to get your copy. You are no longer limited to the flat or stationary design. Called the AVerVision 355AF, the innovative scanner has brilliant features that will take the burden out of many office staff.

The display device is capable of seamlessly outputting a full 1080p High Definition image, using the 5-megapixel camera that provides best in class clarity and image quality.

The scanner works by making a high resolution photo of the object and then saving the output to a device. It can take quality video of objects and still store them as MPG files if you do not want the stills. For this reason, it becomes a handy camera for office documentation where motion may have to be recorded. It has extra sensitive camera to record the smallest audio detail. Aside that you have the option to save the resulting video or canned image onto a USB Drive or any other USB enabled device connected the system.

Added to this functionality is the zoom button that allows the user to take minute details of any object. For example, if you want to scan out a picture within a book, you can single it out with the zoon and obtain a bigger picture for your project.

There is one striking feature that was absent from this brilliant idea. It should have been fitted with a wireless adapter or device to be able to transmit the images copied onto a hard drive remotely so you can get real time update or transmission. Nevertheless, the scanner answers many of the nagging questions that technology has for along time ignored.

The reviews for each camera are all over the place, and they are rarely compared to one another. One is more of the “good value” type, while the other comes from a very respectable line of cameras, but costs more.
