Even though I am writing this , still there is an element of disbelief that something like is actually happening. I wonder, how can a company like Nokia , can make the consumer expect so high, and next moment, perform exactly opposite to that ?? However, with huge expectation rising after the launch of Nokia 5800 , Nokia N97 and even 600 Mhz 5630, I wonder Nokia has finally failed miserably in satisfying the consumer expectation in current time.

    Nokia N86 a huge disappointment

No Xenon flash , No touchScreen , 2.6inch QVGA screen and No fresh Design . Join all this , fix a 8mp camera on N81 and you get the Nokia N86 . When the teaser picture was posted, there were very high expectations for all the above mentioned missing features.

Nokia has disappointed its fans to very big extent. I hope something good follows else God only save Nokia during this economic downtime.

    Evolution of Nokia N86

Nokia suck at design and that is proved by ripoff of its previous models. Hence, here is the story of evolution of Nokia N86. However, I should have added N97 also as the outer button copy N97 a lot.

    Nokia N86 follows the design of N81 , N85 , N96

    Specifications

Everything is officially leaked now , so here is the image of the specification and see how low specification a flagship model can have. ( click on the image of the full view )

One thing I cant really understand is the lack of Xenon flash for a 8MP camera phone?

    I dont understand the whole design stuff , its just a rip off of old models … and .. just a 2.6″inch screen , no TS … … hmm … its actually like N85 with 8mp camera … Check out Gsmarena… 1200 votes give N86 a rating avg of 5 .. :D
… Xenon flash as I read somewhere , takes time to charge , eats up battery , can not be used for Video Recording, and also increase the thickness by 4mm it seems …. etc etc … might be the reason .. who knows….

I am really deceived with Nokia. It does not take into consideration the suggestion of users like SE & Samsung does! They released an “8MP Cameraphone” that lacks a Xenon flash which is a basic thing in any cheap camera. The reason is the same as in Nokia N97.They are going to use the flash as video light. If they really wanted to to that ,they could have put the LEDs along with a Xenon flash like Sony Ericsson did in K850i & C905i!Now we wont be able to get neither a good photo nor video in the dark.It will still have the blueish tint that we get when using LEDs in the dark. The photos in the dark are going to suc_ even if the phone has a 3rd generation dual LED flash.Dual LEDs can’t be compared to a Xenon which is way brighter than LEDs.

They could also have increased the resolution of the OLED screen from a standard QVGA(320×240) which is already outdated to atleast one like in the new Nokia 6260s which has a HVGA(320×480).At 2.6in”,it does make a difference when seen with the naked eyes. The 6260s screen has doubled the number of pixels N86 8MP has!The images looks finer on that display and its perfect for web browsing.

Nokia is no more what it was 3 years ago, when it released the Nokia N95.They can no more impress us.The “WOW” factor is missing. They just make the same phones with minors changes in functions & design.Nokia then sells it at almost double the price! They rely on their diminishing brand name for charging high price!

At this rate,it wont be long before seeing Nokia losing its first place to Samsung,HTC & Sony Ericsson who innovates all the time with novelties.Nokia is lagging behind in all departments.Be it camera, design, innovation, hardware, etc…If Nokia doesn’t do anything right now, they are going to lose lots of Nokia hardcore fans and I am one among them….
